Ex Hypnotist to Jesus Christ. The Dangers of Hypnosis. Christianity and Hypnosis.

Searching in youtube information about Hypnosis, I found several videos that talk about the Dangers of Hypnosis, how Hypnosis is diabolic. Why Christians should not practice Hypnosis.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of high concentration, where the person can bypass his/her Critical Faculty and access to the subconscious becomes easier so you can create positive changes more easily.

The Critical Faculty, also called the Critical Factor, is not really a physical part, but a concept, a model of how the mind works. Is the part that decides based in your beliefs and information you already have, what it believes to be the truth. Notice that the key here is that, the Critical Faculty, control what the mind believes to be good for you, either if it is true or not.

For example many smokers believe that smoking helps them relax. The Critical Faculty believes that, so even we all know that smoking cigarettes won’t relax you. You believe it does, so when you try to quit smoking your Critical Factor will protect you and say “No, you are not quitting smoking. Smoking is good for you. It helps you to relax.”

When you use Hypnosis to stop smoking, the Consulting Hypnotist, or the Hypnotherapist, will bypass this Critical Faculty, access your subconscious and teach your mind that in reality smoking does not relax you (for example) and that smoking is not good for you.

Now, Is it dangerous to access your subconscious? Well you do access your subconscious mind many times during the day. When you do a lot of things “without thinking”. For example many smokers will automatically put the cigarette in his/her mouth without realizing it.

The big difference is that during Hypnosis you access your subconscious with a positive goal in mind. That’s why is easier to quit smoking with hypnosis that with willpower only.

Hypnosis is very similar to daydreaming, and the hypnotic state is very similar to when you almost wake up or fall to sleep

So it is Hypnosis against Christianity, or is Hypnosis dangerous or is Hypnosis diabolical.

There are three keys to understand before answering.

In Hypnosis you are never unconscious, your mind is never empty, never under the control of the hypnotist ( I know it looks that way in Stage Hypnosis, but remember in Stage Hypnosis it is a show).

Hypnosis is just a technique, a tool, something that can be learnt by anyone. That being said like with any technique there are people that can use it wrongly either because of ignorance, inadequate professional or formal training. You cannot say that a scalpel is dangerous, or diabolical because a doctor uses it improperly.

You are never “under” Hypnosis. Hypnosis is not really an “alternate state”. There are many universities and scientific centres doing research about Hypnosis, how it really works and why. We know now that is not a “special power” or “an altered state”.

Hypnotherapy as it is used today is accepted by most Christians religions.

We know Hypnotherapy is not magic, is not a cure-all technique (sometimes does not work), is not sorcery. Nothing to do with spiritism.

Hypnosis is not mentioned in the Bible. The people who say that Hypnosis is against Christianity use the belief that during Hypnosis you have your mind empty, that you are under the control of the hypnotist, that you are open to diabolic possession. None of this is true.

There are many Christians and Christian Ministers that practice Hypnosis because they know hypnosis is not against the Bible or against Christianity.

Think about this …

If Hypnosis is bad or accessing your subconscious is bad, then you cannot drive, because you access your subconscious every time you drive. You cannot go to sleep or daydreaming because you will be opening you subconscious to diabolical possession which we all know is incorrect.

Most of what we do, we do it automatically, without thinking … by habit … most of what we do is it in our subconscious, so we access our subconscious many times during day. Does this mean that every time we access our subconscious we are in danger? Not all all, we do it all the time.

We have to be very careful in believing everything that someone says in Internet. When I asked this lady that says she was an Ex Hypnotherapist who quit to be closer to Jesus, to show me her credentials, she didn’t. Her explanation about Hypnosis is so full of ignorance and false information, that I might be wrong but I think she was never formally trained in Hypnosis. She is only using the idea to attract people to promote her false beliefs.

If you want to experience Hypnosis look for a Health Care Professional who is formally trained in Hypnosis and practices Hypnosis very often. If your problem is not medical related you could check with a Consulting Hypnotist (a person who is a Professional of Hypnosis, but not a Health Care Professional. Not a Doctor for example).

Always consult with your Doctor first. Theoretically almost anyone can enter Hypnosis, but there are certain cases where Hypnosis is not recommended without the proper Medical supervision. For example if you suffer Epilepsy, or mental problems.
