Is Hypnosis like being asleep? Do you lose conscious during Hypnosis? Is Hypnosis useful for children and teenagers?

Are you asleep during Hypnosis? Are you unconscious during Hypnosis? Is Hypnosis useful for children and teenagers?

The answer to the first two is no and yes to the third one. Hypnosis can be useful for children and adolescents.

During Hypnosis you are asleep. It is a state of high concentration where you have access to your subconscious and can create positive changes more easily than using willpower alone.

In many cases relaxation is used, but it is not necessary to relax to enter Hypnosis. Certainly a person in a hypnotic state seems to be asleep and hypnotists use the word “sleep” or “relax”.

You are not unconscious during Hypnosis. You certainly can be so focused during hypnosis that you lose track of time and sounds to around you, but if an emergency happens, let’s say that the fire alarm is activated, you will react immediately.

Neither you are unconscious, or with an empty mind. The goal of using hypnosis is to access your subconscious more easily, but that does not make you be unconscious and much less with an empty mind, on the contrary your mind goes into a high degree of concentration.

A video on youtube.com mentions that hypnosis can help children and adolescents in their behavior and activities. For example have a more positive attitude to homework and listen more to the advice of parents.

One person wondered if that would cause a child to become more susceptible to the influence of others. In reality it is the opposite, a child or a teenager who learns self-hypnosis learns how to be more independent, more sure of himself, and therefore becomes less influenced by others or social media.
As always it is important to consult your doctor first and a Professional of Hypnosis. Remember hypnosis does not work miracles. It is not a cure-all, nor is it magic. It is certainly a very powerful technique to create positive change.
