Why should I use Hypnosis, or NLP or Life Coaching? Can I get the same results using other methods? Can really Hypnosis, NLP or Life Coaching benefit me?
My answer is yes, you could use other methods. Yes, Hypnosis, NLP and Life Coaching work and can help in many cases. Yes, they have many positive benefits.

Hypnosis is simply focused concentration on a goal. Every day we enter in states very similar to hypnosis, like daydreaming or when you are so concentrated in something that you forget momentarily about anything else.
Does Hypnosis work?
It certainly works … we have helped clients lose weight, quit smoking, sleep better, relax, have higher self-esteem and be more efficient in their professional and business life.
Does Hypnosis work 100%?
No. There is no technique that works 100%. That is why we in NLP Hypnosis Centre offer a full guarantee … “If you do not go into hypnosis, your hypnosis session is free.” Most people can go into hypnosis, as mentioned before, we do it involuntarily several times a day, like when we daydream or we get lost in our thoughts for being totally focused in something. Some people take a little more time, for example very analytical people.
It is very important to mention here that being able to enter hypnosis or to get hypnotized does not have to do anything with people being ignorant, gullible or easy to manipulate.
I sometimes say … “the smarter, the better” … because people with good imagination enter into hypnosis very easily. This being said is important to notice that it is more a matter of good imagination than your I.Q. and of course the knowledge and experience of the Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist.
My main point is that being able to go into hypnosis does not make you a person easy to manipulate, or ignorant, or gullible.
Most people can be hypnotized. Some go into hypnosis very easily, others take more time. Analytical people take more time. Sometimes people have many misconceptions about hypnosis and that does not allow them to enjoy the “hypnotic trance”, for example if they are afraid of loosing control or revealing secrets. When they realize this is not going to happen then to get into hypnosis becomes easier.
Have you ever met a person that you were not able to hypnotize?
Yes, but the problem is not hypnosis (the technique) or the clients … but not the hypnotist.
For example if a person think that being hypnotized is to be easy to manipulate, or that hypnosis is diabolic, or that during hypnosis you could reveal your secrets or that you can get stuck in Hypnosis for life, then this person is going to have a hard time entering hypnosis, but it is not because he or she cannot do it, it is because the Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist has not been able to show them that the misconceptions they have about hypnosis are false. That those mentioned about are myths not reality. That there are scientific data that shows that Hypnosis works.
But some people say that hypnosis is dangerous, is diabolical, people can stay in Hipnosis for life, they can take control of my mind?
Those statements are false and based on false information. Remember Hypnosis is a technique that anyone can learn, as such it can be a problem if you put yourself in the hands of someone who does not have the proper training and experience. It’s like a scalpel … in the hands of a Health Professional, it can save your life. In the hands of a Health Professional that he or she is incapable and lacking training and experience can cost you your life.
Hypnosis is not evil, is not dangerous, it is not mind control. A hypnotist without proper training, experience and who promotes hypnosis as a miraculous cure … that can be dangerous.
Is not the technique is the person … other than that hypnosis is not a mental power and therefore it is very difficult for someone to be compelled to do something that is against their moral principles.
Manipulation exists in every day of our life … TV, Internet, Politicians, Religion, your neighbour, your spouse … there is always someone trying to influence our decisions. When you practice Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis you learn more how your mind works and therefore you take better decisions.
In the case of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) you learn how your thoughts affect your emotions and vice versa. Learn to know yourself more and therefore to better relate to others. To communicate better with other and yourself.
There are many scientific studies that show hypnosis works, not much really about NLP. We know that the subconscious is much more powerful than the conscious. In fact most things we do daily are done by the subconscious. A simple example … “walking” image if you have to think consciously every movement you do. When you learned to walk you passed that information into the subconscious. That’s why techniques like hypnosis and NLP work more with the subconscious.
Certainly there are things you can change in your life by simply using willpower. For example you can quit smoking using willpower or lose weight, following a diet using will power. You can use prayer to feel better and be more motivated. You can keep a positive mind using affirmations and willpower.
So why use techniques such as hypnosis, NLP?
Simple because they make it easier and more powerful. Please pay attention that I’m not saying you do not have to do your part. Of course you have to, but the whole process becomes easier.
You maybe have watched TV ads telling you that quitting smoking is very difficult … well I can tell you using hypnosis to stop smoking is much easier and without side effects.
If you ever used diets to lose weight, you know that a lot of willpower is required to stay on the diet and often you lose weight and then gain it again. Hypnosis and NLP do it all in an easier and more powerful way.
Remember hypnosis is not magic. It is not miraculous. It is not mind control. Do not expect that if you come to my office to use hypnosis to lose weight. I hypnotize you. I make a couple of magical passes and say a couple of magical phrases and then when you get home you all the sudden have lost 4 pounds.
It won’t happen. Again Hypnosis is not magic, nor a cure-all technique.
What it will happen is that after you go into hypnosis for loosing or managing weight. Your subconscious will start to guide you into eating well, enjoying food and loosing weight. You will notice that you are controlling the situation and not the food.
How does Hypnosis and NLP do all the process easier?
Think of some you wanted to stop doing … always tried, but in the end even with much willpower it didn’t work.
Because you need to make the change at subconscious level and not on a conscious level (willpower). When change is achieved at subconscious level, the results are more powerful.
Is it dangerous to make changes at subconscious level?
Of course, but the idea here is that you will make changes to help you. For example, when you learned to drive and used the conscious and willpower, it was hard. You had to consciously think about everything you did … after much practice you put the whole process on a subconscious level, then it became easier and fun … that’s a positive change at the subconscious level. Moreover if you notice “some bad habits” that you learned during the process are still there and they show up without thinking (automatically done by the subconscious).
Changes at a subconscious level are dangerous when you allow another person to brainwash you … like when you follow a political leader, a religious leader … or your friend, without analyzing their ideas.
Techniques such as hypnosis and NLP are useful and powerful precisely because they help to better understand how your subconscious works and thus have better control of yourself, and they give you the power to access your subconscious to create positive changes.
In hypnosis the hypnotist or hypnotherapist is only a guide … teaches you, guides you as you enter hypnosis or accessing your subconscious to create positive and powerful changes that help you live happier, healthier and more successful.
