When my family and I immigrated to Canada and I started looking for a job, I had a background and formal training in Chemistry, Computers and Teaching, but as it happens to many immigrants, employers didn’t care about my training and Experience in El Salvador, they asked about my experience and training an Canada, and I had nothing, so I started to look for any job.

My first job was in a factory as a factory worker. Since then I have had many jobs … cleaning offices and bathrooms, driving buses for young people with psychological problems, taking care of children in school at lunch time, salesperson, cashier, marketing (calling by phone), etc.
The marketing job was very challenging, because my accent some people insulted me and told to go back to India (for some reason they though I was from India).

At the same time that I was working I started to get some formal training in computers, business administration, business management, business development. I’m proud to say that I graduate with honours from George Brown College, and I have a letter from one of my computer teachers stating that I taught him a couple of things(remember I already have computer training, en El Salvador y Costa Rica about very old operating systems).

When I came to Canada I got interested in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnosis, but I put them aside and dedicated my time to computers, programming and repair.
After that I got jobs a technician, then as manager and quality control and opened some businesses a part-time. I taught Computer Literacy.

Of course when I started to learn about Hypnosis I loved the idea “of power”. Image having the power to control everything in your life and others … but that’s not the reality. Hypnosis is a technique and therefore, not a power to control other people.
